November 2011 - Windsurf Magazine Tiree Writeup

Tiree this year was great fun cruising with Alfie Hart (camera man) in his beloved Toyota Hiace with friend Gefen. Every year I tend to head up to Tiree with someone different and each year is equally hilarious in a different way. Friends hey, ahh wow.... great times.

Although despite spending my time with a cameraman I didn't necessarily benefit from the associated exposure by being present in every one of his films (although he did say he's waiting for me to come up to Pembrokeshire before the footage gets released).

However, whilst I wait for the opportunity to give Alf a massive Chinese Burn and ask where all my footage is, there are a few gems coutesy of John Carter. As well as the following shot in the Tiree write up from Windsurf Magazine, I'm expecting an Inner Hebridean style article to rear it's head at some point soon, according to the prophet JC.

The article concerns a few days before the event of exceptional conditions and radness.

August 2011 - Turkish Yacht Trip

Before the Autumn season of competitions, I managed to get an once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of a chartered yacht trip in the Mediterranean sea around the coast of Turkey. The yacht was 110 feet and fully equiped for pretty much any fun you wanted to have. Ahead of the article that has been scheduled for an edition of Boards magazine this coming spring, here are a few teasers of that deep blue Mediterranean water.

You thought I wouldn't be taking my tea with me to Turkey? You must be kidding!!

Summer 2011 - Bournemouth Mini Guide

If you live in, or are visiting Bournemouth, and you want to find out what's hot and what to do? Why, of course - you get your hands on the Bournemouth Mini Guide. Over 30,000 of these were printed out as part of the council's marketing campaign and thanks to a little insider help from Gregg Dunnett, I managed to get a windusrfing shot slam inside page 3.

Spring 2011 - K4 Fins video short

This spring offered the usual abundance of swell down in Cornwall. In between sessions, Steve Thorpe director of K4 Fins, managed to get out the pole cam and get some footage of Andy King and myself for a time cathching some waves at Godrevy doing our best to rip up the waves (something made a darn sight easier with K4 Fins driving you). So Quatro Quad 85l with K4 Fins, with my 5.3m - it was a great session. And I think, quite a fun video came out off the back of it. Cheers Steve.

Lifeboat Tea on the shelves

It was a good feeling to head out to Waitrose the other day. Now I don't normally enjoy shopping all that much, being more intent on hanging out at the local beach shooting the breeze but there was a reason for this trip being made with anticipation.

It was a check to see my favourite cup of Tea - Lifeboat Tea - was proudly on the Waitrose shelves at my local store. And so it was, sat there in all it's glory. A proud moment I might add to see that the Tea that I am an ambassador for is available to the masses in my home town.

Any, after buying some for that delicious taste and taking several photos with my phone camera, here's one of those shots from the suprisingly satisfying morning.

Boards Magazine June 2011 - Brandon Bay Coverage

The yearly trip to Brandon Bay, Ireland is a repeatedly welcome part of the season. The mixture of good company, beautiful scenery and great windsurfing conditions awaken the brain for the start of the summer. This year's event didn't have the swell we were after but ticked the box in every other way. Here's a photo from the magazine coverage of the event. A nice shot of Chris Murray and myself simultaneously top turning during a competition heat.

Trip To Tasmania 2011 June - Boardseeker Magazine

Following on from the Tasmania article published in Boards Magazine, we also managed to get what I think was a really nice article in Boardseeker Magazine. A sort of travel / windsurfing lifestyle slide of photos from the trip - really making the most out of Becky Finn's incredible photography.

It's well worth checking out Becky's photos and seeing the article for yourself here: http://www.boardseekermag.com/features/windsurfing-lifestyle/james-cox-in-tasmania.html

Tasmania Article 2011 - Boards Magazine

Tas 1

Part of the winter training trip for 2010/2011 was spent in Tasmania on an incredible trip with wife and friends Hugo, Becky, Paul and Tracey. I love going to the Southern hemisphere and Tasmania arrived with a real feeling of euphoria.

As part of training we toured around trying out new locations and getting in some quality surfs, windsurfs and dives. The 7 page Boards magazine article published the following June told the whole story. As part of the Lifeboat Tea advertising schedule, the article was also followed by an excellent Lifeboat Tea advert.

December / Jan 2010 - Boardseeker Magazine

Following the release of the 'Winters Day' video short, the article was released on Boardseeker magazine as a feature released to over 10,000 windsurfers worldwide. You can check out the article here:

December 2010 - A winter's day with James Cox

Deepest, darkest winter 2010. Not long after the snow showers ravaged the UK we put together a movie to be published on Boardseeker and Mpora. Currently at over 15,000 views it seemsed to go down pretty well. (Well done alfie, the footage of me chopping wood gave people what they needed).
